'ABC Amber Lotus 1-2-3 Converter' is supposed to convert Lotus 1-2-3 file to almost any format you wish (XLS, DBF, MDB, CSV, XML, PDF, HTML, CHM, RTF, HLP, DOC, and more). From the test I've run on this software resulted that it works quite fast. I have experienced some problems though, when I tried to open with OpenOffice a RTF converted file. The opened file looked a bit strange and I wasn't able to see the information correctly. The trial version lets you import only 10 records a time but the producer claims that 'batch conversion ability allows you to convert a unlimited number of Lotus files at a time'. Batch Conversion is available in the registered version only. A feature that impressed me is that it supports over 50 languages.
If you need to convert a Lotus 1-2-3 file into one, or more, of the supported formats, you'll need to import a WK1 file into 'ABC Amber Lotus Converter' and select the format you want. Is that easy and you don't need to have Lotus 1-2-3 installed on your system in order to open the file.
The interface is very well organized and all the features are at hand. You can see the producers care for details.
Pluses: Very easy to use and many output file types supported. Multi languages support.
Drawbacks / flaws: There might be some problems when trying open an output file with certain programs. For example, a resulted RTF file can't be opened with OpenOffice.
In conclusion: Is very useful if you work with WK1 files.
