No-IP DUC is a program which helps you keep your IP number unchanged in case you run a Web or FTP server and you are behind a router.
After installing the program, you need to create an account with www.no-ip.com. Once the account created ,you will be able to choose a free domain name, or register your existing one, and then create hosts and groups. The client application downloads the hosts and groups list in order that you see the status of your current IPs.
As for configuration, you need to log on to your account and manage online your hosts and groups: edit hostname information, edit mail options, SSL certificates, monitor activity, etc.
Pluses: The use of encrypted data. You can set the program to run at Windows startup or as a Windows service, you can override automatic connection detection and IP detection, connect via HTTP proxy, use scheduling to prevent updates, etc.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: A good solution for those who want to run Web servers or FTP servers, but their IPs are dynamically allocated.
