Alto Memory Booster increases your computer speed by freeing wasted RAM. It keeps your computer optimized by monitoring your applications. When you install the software, it automatically configures a system service which can be set to start with the operating system. This means that your computer is always monitored, and optimization occurs whenever the program decides it's necessary.
Novice users shouldn't have any trouble setting up the program using its integrated configuration wizard. The user only has to answer a few basic questions about applications running on his or her system. Based on these answers, the program will tweak its minimum free memory, minimum cache and speed settings. After the wizard is completed the user interface appears. Whenever you want to free up some memory, so other applications would start faster, just click the "Quick Boost" button. The process will take a few seconds and will free about 5-10% of your memory, making it available to other applications.
Diagrams are shown about processor occupancy, current memory, and page file usage. They are useful for monitoring your system's performance. Also, shortcut keys can be defined for quick access to the program's features. Program settings about memory control can be manually tweaked using the "Options" menu, although the vendor does not recommend it.
Pluses: A simple wizard is used to configure the program.
Drawbacks / flaws: Like all memory managers and optimizers, Alto Memory Booster is not always able to improve your system performance. I had my OS installed just a few days ago before testing the program, and I didn't really feel any performance boost.
In conclusion: If your computer speed isn't the way you knew it when you bought your PC, or when you last installed your OS, this program might boost your system performance.
