TypeTip is a spell-check utility and can correct your English typing any Windows program, for example, Notepad, WordPad, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, MSN/Yahoo Messenger, ICQ, IE Browser. For every letter that you write, a pop-up will appear that will try to analyze the correct spelling of the word that you want to write. This system helps you if you forgot how to write a long or complex word. Knowing only some of the letters, is enough for Type Tip to recognize the whole word.
Unfortunately the utility is not able to analyze the topic of the sentence, so any other grammatical mistakes, besides spelling, will be ignored.
The utility can be disabled by pressing twice the Caps Lock button. If you feel that the default dictionary is not complete or you use special words or slang, you have to complete the dictionary by yourself. Only in this way the utility will recognize the special words that you use.
Pluses: the ability of tracking online your spelling; it can correct your spelling from most any Windows applications;
Drawbacks / flaws: it cannot analyze the topic sentence
In conclusion: If you work as an editor, journalist, writer, or you have another job that involves writing at the computer, you might need TypeTip.
