Use CONTORT to distort and merge parts of pictures and to produce surreal effects. It is very suitable for portraits because of the weird distorting effects: Vitreous, Segment, Tear, Scatter, Perturbation Amplitude and Frequency, Band Frequency. You can also edit images using more popular effects such as: rotate, brightness, contrast, pencil draw, etc. You can create surreal and funny images by exploding, imploding, nudging and twisting any part of the picture. Merge in parts of other images without any visible join. You can use Contort to capture screen images or to record actions in an AVI animation movie while you work with the program. Pluses: Contort is an optional plugin to visual vision's easy-web-editor.
Drawbacks / flaws: The program is a little bit complicated to learn and to use and the interface is not extremely intuitive as we had to carefully read the help sections before performing any actions. The bewildering part is the fact that you need to manage so called source and destination files instead of the usual single file editing mode.
In conclusion: Not quite user friendly, but featuring some interesting image distorting effects.
