Imagine a software that can ripp your DVD's just by a press of a button. Acala DVD Ripper can do this giving you the impression that you are a professionist. Just load the DVD, choose the path where you want to be saved and start the conversion.
You can use three output formats: AVI (with XVID compression), VCD, SVCD. By VCD and SVCD you can choose the split mode (infinite or 74min. 80min. length CD's) and TV Mode (PAL, NTSC, FILM).
But I was interested more on AVI format. You can set all the important characteristics of the XVID encoding, from audio quality to aspect ratio, frame size, frame rate.
Along with a preview screen and a text box where are displayed all the informations regarding the DVD, nothing is very impressive. But after you made the first conversion you will be surprised by the qaulity of the result file. The application is using lossless algorithms to perform the conversion. Another powerful characterstic is the speed of the conversion. Even on a low system you will get a good time in conversion.
Besides these, another strong characteristic is the simplicity of it all. The application can detect the audio and video stream without giving to it any parametres.
Pluses: AVI/XVID support; fast conversion; easy to use
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Anybody can use this one without any help. Just push the button and the application can do everything else on its own.
